Water! A Great Assistant to Weight Loss.
Well, I wondered for a long time so I can look a little bit. I found a study published a year ago. The researchers compared weight loss between the 2 groups of people who followed the same hypo caloric diet (1200kcal for women and for men 1500kcal) for 12 weeks: the first group has combined hypo caloric diet with increased consumption of water (500ml of water before each meal) and the second followed the diet only. After 12 weeks, we observed that men and women in the group with increased consumption of water lost 44% more weight (equivalent to 2 kg extra) compared with control subjects. It also appeared that the group who consumed the water before the meal had lower energy intake at lunch that followed.
As the researchers suggest, a possible explanation of the result is reduced energy intake at lunch following the consumption of water due to increased satiety or delayed gastric emptying. But the truth is that the exact mechanisms to explain the additional loss in the group that drank water not been clarified completely. Much has been written ... by the fact that a dehydrated body cannot properly metabolize fat, so that the water consumption reduces appetite. What but the reality is hard to say? Probably a combination of many factors.
It has been shown that dehydration decreases performance. So it is difficult for an organization to have energy for daily and sports activities if they are dehydrated. The result is tiredness and lethargy, and of course the reduced energy consumption.
Also, drinking water helps the action of the plant to treat constipation. It contributes to remove the feeling of bloating, improved bowel function in the removal of metabolic waste and the general body.
Even as the body often confuses thirst with hunger that it is likely that consumption of adequate quantities of water, that the agency is complete and satisfy thirst, reduce our appetite for food. Think how many foods such as fruits, are richly water. So when we do not drink water, the body will look elsewhere, what is necessary (see soft drinks with sugar, juice or other foods). Of course the above study that conclusion does not apply because the energy intake of participants was controlled.
And let's not forget that the kidney function and adequate quantity of water removed from the body, all waste products of metabolism, the accumulation of which can lead to oxidative stress and overall burden of the organization.
Finally, intake of water in the quantities we need to reduce water retention, since the body sees that he is given in each case the amount needed, so there is no reason to hold stocks.
So, there are many benefits of water and see the weight loss. Proper hydration, in addition to improving the health and appearance of skin and hair, strengthen and smooth operation of the interior, and all organs, kidneys, liver, digestive, require water to function properly.
The needs of a person in water can be roughly calculated using the caloric intake at about 1ml per kcal employed, i.e. 2 to 2.5 liters for an average, healthy person.
And let's keep in mind that thirst is a sign of dehydration! Therefore it is wrong to wait until thirsty to drink water!
Water: magic potion for weight loss
We all pretty much know some things about diet and nutrients that must be consumed daily, i.e. proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals and certainly a lot of water.
Let's see why everyone says that our diet is rich in protein and not carbohydrates. First of all we must know that our metabolism increases after food intake for a period of 4-6 hours. The nature of our food has a direct effect on metabolism, because of the special energy of each nutrient. The protein has great special effects (30%) compared to carbohydrates and fats (6%). This is particularly important when planning diets for weight loss. So understand that protein helps in losing weight. It also protects the existing muscle tissue and helps to build new, which is very essential to our metabolism. Reduces appetite. The main advantage however is another.
To explain it would go into some specific issues. When the protein is "burned", it gives our bodies amino acids, and one of them is glucagon. Glucagon has the property, along with other factors, increasing the mobilization of glycogen reserves of the body and thus does not consume glucose from the body cells. This has resulted in not rising blood glucose and insulin secretion have not. Why we are what? Because insulin is a hormone that promotes the creation of fat deposits in the body. Just then the insulin "turns" in the body in storage mode. Just the opposite effect we have with glucagon. "Turns" in the body in burning mode.
Let's go now to carbohydrates. When you "burn" give the body sugars, thus increasing the blood glucose and automatically have insulin secretion and, as explained above, this involves storing body fat.
Let's deal now with two myths that exist in nutrition
1. You should not eat any fat to lose weight. WRONG. Studies have shown that the lack of fat from our diet causes depression, antisocial behavior, suicidal and violent. Did many faces of this behavior we know them today?
2. I do not eat anything or eat very little to lose weight. WRONG. Apart from not getting the ingredients we need every day, we have the results we want. And because our organization does not understand dieting. He understands that it has ingredients to work and this makes him realize that you need to do something to survive. Let's see what do animals hibernate, what they do to survive the winter. Store fat.
It is now clear that to survive, the body will start storing fat. As a little and eat, will turn into fat and energy we need to get it from protein and carbohydrates. So do not lose weight and destroys our muscle tissue and our metabolism.
Finally, let's say two words about the water that we have in abundance.
Water is the "magic potion" to weight loss, however unlikely it may seem. Reduces physical hunger, hydrates your body and helps the body metabolize stored fat. Let us again a little more specific. The kidneys cannot function properly without water. When it does, that there is enough water, storing everything in the liver. One of the jobs of the liver is the mobilization of fat. If you make part of the job of the kidneys, it returns 100% in his job. When, finally, the body has enough water, because it is indispensable for its survival, is exactly what and where lack of food: save every drop of water and fat. Result of all this?
Necessary balanced diet and plenty of water to enable our organization and give us those for which it is made.
